Overview

The unique Toughbook 19 fully rugged PC by Panasonic, also known as the CF-19, is a convertible-style computer that can be used as either a rugged notebook or as a rugged tablet pc. The Panasonic Toughbook 19 is the perfect solution for someone that needs the functionality of both. With the release of a button the Panasonic Toughbook 19 screen swivels to fold flat and becomes a tablet PC from a laptop.

The base model Panasonic Toughbook 19 comes standard with a "finger-touch" touch screen and runs on Windows XP Professional* in laptop mode and Windows Tablet PC when in tablet mode. The screen of the Panasonic Toughbook 19 can be upgraded to include a “Dual Touch” which is both a touchscreen and a digitizer touchscreen.

The Panasonic Toughbook 19 is a fully rugged computer. This means that it comes standard with a shock mounted hard drive which allows the disk drive to withstand drops as well as shock vibrations that are prevalent in a moving vehicle. The Panasonic Toughbook 19 is also surrounded by a magnesium alloy case making it much stronger than an off the shelf computer. All of the ports on this computer are fully sealed which protects the Panasonic Toughbook 19 against the outside elements such as rain, dust and moisture. Additionally, if you are using this computer in the military, the Panasonic Toughbook 19 was designed using MIL-STD 810G test procedures.

Some popular upgrade options and accessories for the Panasonic Toughbook 19 include integrated GPS, Mobile Broadband Internet (GOBI) 3G Wireless, an automobile power adapter and a smart card reader.
